Susan Carlson - Illinois Private Investigator

While a longtime successful advertising producer at the helm of her own production company in the fast-paced media industry, Susan Carlson was recruited by a major Chicago detective agency to contribute to an ongoing investigation.

 

Her ability to "get the job done" parlayed this one-time assignment into a full-time position with the agency, and she soon became a lead detective working in all areas of investigation.

 

After completing a three year agency apprenticeship, Susan successfully sat for the Illinois State Licensing exam and received her Class A Private Detective. In 2004 she opened her own business, Carlson Investigations, Inc.

 

Susan holds a bachelor's degree in theater and communications from the University of Miami. Her theatrical training has served her well when called upon to assume a different persona during undercover work.

 

Susan possesses a particular expertise in intelligence gathering. Her ability to navigate the abyss of web-based data systems has earned the respect of her peers. She is a professional who exemplifies a new breed of detective, a detective who is as much at home with a spread sheet as she is doing undercover surveillance.

 

Through her work with some of Chicago's leading attorneys, Susan has developed a solid grounding in criminal and civil law. Based upon her legal experience, Susan has earned memberships into the prestigious National Association of Legal Investigators, World Association of Detectives, and the National Association of Professional Process Servers. These organizations provide local, national, and even international networks to draw upon in putting together teams of professionals with specific skill sets vital to each individual case. Susan is also a member of the respected Intellenet International Intelligence Network, a professional organization which is peer reviewed by an elite group of specialized and highly credentialed investigators.

 

In November of 2005, after a year of training and successful completion of a detailed entrance exam, Susan Carlson received her certification in the Reid Technique of Interview and Interrogation and holds a membership in the Reid Institute, the undisputed world authority on truth detection. In fact, Susan is the only private investigator in Illinois to achieve this prestigious certification.

 

In June of 2009, Susan was awarded CLI status to become a Certified Legal Investigator. The CLI designation is only conferred to those experienced legal investigators who pass stringent oral and written examinations, and who author a white paper that is graded and subsequently published in national investigative trade publications. Initiated in 1979, the CLI examination is administered twice per year by a professional certification board of the National Association of Legal Investigators, Inc... Currently, there are only 76 CLI's in the world.
